John mentioned in an earlier post that the flight to Hanoi was the first for some . . . I would would be part of that some. Before Saturday, the longest flight I experienced was from Detroit to Los Angeles. I can now say that the longest flight is from Chicago to Tokyo.
So far the experience is simply amazing! Hanoi is a city where the past and present are mixed. The city life cannot be compared. I just spent several hours in the Old Quarter of Hanoi . . . the streets are like a spiderweb. Each street has a specific item the stores sell . . . shirts . . . media (CDs & DVDs) . . . electronics . . . shoes. So, LOTS to choose from for items.
On Tuesday we met with the Ministry of Education and Training which is responsible for all of the education in the country and the Department of Education for the providence of Hanoi. We learned quite a bite about the primary and secondary education systems.
That's all for now . . . come back for more from the study tour.
